Auriferous Flame, the darker counterpart of Spectral Lore and Mystras' Ayloss, is now streaming their highly anticipated third album, The Insurrectionists and The Caretakers, ahead of its official release tomorrow, November 8th, on True Cult Records.
The album is thematically centered around the concept of revolution, offering a profound exploration of its dual aspects. It dives deep into the complexities of change, resistance, and the human experience, providing listeners with a thought-provoking journey through sound.
Currently streaming in full at No Clean Singing, the publication praised the album, stating, “It’s explosive in its passion and storming in its black/thrashing intensity, but also remarkably elaborate, technically eye-popping, and at times surprisingly atmospheric (and even haunting).”
Listen to The Insurrectionists and The Caretakers in its entirety here.
Musically, The Insurrectionists and The Caretakers builds upon the foundation laid by Ardor for Black Majesty, seamlessly merging two seemingly distant subgenres of black metal: energetic black thrash and dark atmospheric black metal. The result is a sound rich in epic and occult tones, inviting listeners into a captivating auditory experience.
The album’s longest and most defining track, the 15-minute opener "The Insurrectionists," presents an epic narrative that has been in development since the previous album, marking Auriferous Flame’s most ambitious undertaking to date.
Recorded and produced by Ayloss at his Stellar Auditorium studio and mastered by Nidstag Studios, The Insurrectionists and The Caretakers showcases a clear progression in both sound and intensity, reflecting the project’s maturity and evolving vision. The cover art, created by Gilded Panoply for the third consecutive album, complements the thematic depth of the music. Pre-orders are now available at this location.
