Comments YATSU, “These two songs have been in heavy rotation in our sets for a while now and desperately needed a home. We played a trio of shows with WANDERER back in March 2024 and we all hit it off extremely well. So, it made sense to release these songs on a split with our new friends and have our riffs cozy up with one another. These tracks are probably some of our most hard-hitting thus far.”
Comments WANDERER, “We clicked with the YATSU gang so well during our first shows together that it was almost inevitable that we would do a release together. YATSU is exactly the kind of music we think our world needs more of; music with a real message. We’ve been playing these songs for almost ten years, and they have evolved naturally through that experience, and recording them again in their new iterations seemed like a perfect way to call back to the beginnings of the band while also heavily hinting at our sonic future. This is also the debut release of our guitarist Brent’s new label Mummified Gasp, which we will be releasing new music through in the future as well.”
YATSU’s tracks were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Michael Briggs at Civil Audio in Denton, Texas. The instruments for WANDERER’s tracks were recorded live – engineered, mixed, and mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with the vocals and synths recorded by Dan Lee. All four tracks were mastered for the vinyl release by Michael Briggs, and the split was completed with cover art by Hell Simulation and layout by Morgan Carpenter.
