Trollband, the melodic black/folk metal band from Canada, has announced the release of their new album, Woolgatherings, set to be available on December 1, 2024, via Vegvisir Distribution. The album will be released in CD format.
Woolgatherings is dedicated to Aren Alexander Smith, who tragically passed away in 2023, and Brenden Gunn, the bassist of Trollband, Sand Witch, and Empress, who passed away in 2019.
The recording process took place across different locations, with drums recorded at the Kafirun/Trollband lockout space in 2020, engineered by Dylan Pieter Wijdenes-Charles and Matt Courtemanche. Vocals were tracked at Fiasco Bros. Recording Studios, engineered by SuryaKiran "Kiran" Mukkavilli in 2021, while all other tracking was done at home studios during the pandemic. The final mix and master were handled by Matt Courtemanche and Sam Levitt.
Fans of Moonsorrow, Primordial, A Forest of Stars, Finntroll, Wolves in the Throne Room, and Opeth will find themselves drawn to the evocative melodies and raw intensity of Woolgatherings, a true tribute to resilience and creativity.
