Symphonic blackened death metal band MOURNING OF THE HERETIC release their dark new opus ‘TO THE SHADOWS BETROTHED.’ After releasing two EPs, the band embraces the shadows of its majestic and abrasive world, casting out haunted, black magic with razor sharp edges and a sullen but theatrical atmosphere.
MOURNING OF THE HERETIC formed in 2010 in the north of Ireland. The band released two EPs and cut their teeth on the live circuit, sharing the stage with such legends as CHRISTIAN DEATH and ENTHRONED. The band’s live performances highlight the potency of their music as they place significant emphasis on musicianship and visual aesthetics.
‘TO THE SHADOWS BETROTHED’ seamlessly weaves together a variety of influences and genres, across the worlds of both the extreme and the Gothic. The album’s haunting and ominous sound is heightened by horror undertones, culminating in a style that is both visceral and immersive.
