OVERT ENEMY, the Texas-based powerhouse in the world of metal, has dropped a fierce new track, “Eradication,” along with a dynamic lyric video featuring art by Colombian graphic artist Santiago Yanez and animated by Ven Scott (Runescarred/VS Filmworks) that invites fans deeper into the intense storytelling and high-octane musicianship the band is known for. “Eradication” is a sneak peek into their forthcoming album, Insurrection, slated for release in Fall 2025.
Insurrection, the band’s ambitious full-length debut, takes a page from legendary concept albums by the likes of RUSH and MASTODON. Originally planned as an EP, it evolved into a full-length metal saga exploring themes of cosmic invasion and rebellion with art that ties into their previously released lyric videos creating their own “universe”. “Eradication” forms part of a three-song arc told from the viewpoint of an alien force, delivering the thrilling sound of an interstellar assault through blistering guitars and powerful, theatrical vocals.
"‘Eradication’ is one part of a 3-song story about an alien invasion. It starts with the perspective of the invaders. Musically it’s one of our more technical songs and so much fun to play on guitar. It’s very theatrical, and Laura plays ‘the alien queen.’ We have way too much fun around here,” the band shared.
The lyric video for “Eradication” is now live and gives fans a visual dive into the track’s apocalyptic themes, backed by OVERT ENEMY’s signature, adrenaline-charged sound. The video pairs perfectly with the track’s technical ferocity and sets the stage for the journey awaiting listeners on Insurrection.
Be prepared to join the invasion. Insurrection will be available across all major streaming platforms on September 26, 2025.
