Furnace to release "Trojan Hearse" in August!

Swedish melodic death metal band Furnace is set to release their new album, "Trojan Hearse", on August 23, 2024, through Obelisk Polaris Productions. Formed in 2019 by Rogga Johansson (Paganizer, Demiurg, The Grotesquery) and Peter Svensson (Assassin's Blade, Void Moon) out of a shared passion for horror fantasy concept albums, Furnace has established a strong tradition of blending melodic death metal with elements of gothic and doom metal, reminiscent of bands like Edge of Sanity and Paradise Lost.

"Trojan Hearse" is the band's fifth full-length release, following albums such as "Black Stone Church" (2020), "Dark Vistas" (2020), "Stellarum" (2022), and the triple album "The Casca Trilogy" (2023). True to Furnace's style, "Trojan Hearse" is a concept album based on a story by lyricist Peter Svensson and E.C. Hellwell. The album narrates the journey of a man who constructs a machine to traverse the kingdom of the dead, initially seeking his deceased wife. Along the way, he encounters various souls, including a burnt-out God who can no longer handle the burden of humanity. The story unfolds to reveal that our world is governed by demons weary of the netherworld, culminating in a surprising twist.

The album was recorded at The Rotpit and Night Wind Studios, with production, mixing, and mastering handled by Peter Svensson. The artwork was created by Lars Demoké, and the layout was done by Svensson. The album also features guest guitar solos by Kjetil Lynghaug.
