Fomented are a fierce new force in the UK’s Metal & Hardcore scene, and they are proud to unleash their blistering debut EP titled ‘Bitter and Miserable Beings’ which will be released on all streaming platforms from the Friday 7th March. Featuring members of Ashen Crown, DeathCollector, and ex-Savage Messiah, Fomented armed with their gut-wrenching riffs, intense vocals have crafted an explosive debut full of gut-wrenching riffs, intense vocals, and a sound that refuses to be categorised. ‘Bitter and Miserable Beings’ is completely a DIY effort, the band have crafted everything from the writing and recording to artwork, mixing and mastering. Vocalist, Kieran Scott and multi instrumentalist, Sy Taplin have taken a hands-on approach, to create a raw and honest statement of their creative process, without the pressures of a traditional studio environment. Channelling the influences of Kublai Khan, Knocked Loose and Lamb Of God, the result is a furious and genre-blending mix of hardcore, nu-metal, and death metal that explores the complexities of human existence.
“Our music is a mirror of ourselves as human beings” said vocalist Kieran Scott. “The entire EP dives into the contradictions, self-harm, and self-sabotage we all face. The fear of change often leads us to stay stuck in the familiar, even when it means walking headfirst into our own failures. We hope this resonates with people who, like us, feel trapped in cycles they can’t break.”
