Sarpsborg, Norway – April 2025 – Norway’s one-man thrash metal juggernaut Tonic Breed , helmed by Patrik K. Svendsen , returns with another fierce assault in 2025. The brand-new single, “The Die Is Cast,” features a blistering guest solo from none other than Michael Gilbert of legendary thrash icons Flotsam and Jetsam .

Following the success of the earlier 2025 collaboration “The Charge” featuring Darkroot , this new track once again cements Tonic Breed’s reputation for relentless creativity and genre-pushing intensity. No filler, no fluff—just straight-up, hard-hitting thrash with razor-sharp precision and a dose of haunting melody.

“The Die Is Cast” paints a vivid picture of a broken war machine, left to rust in a wasteland of its own making. The silence it now keeps is deafening—a symbol of past destruction and the desolation that followed.

Svendsen shares:

“I think the fans are gonna dig this one. Tonic Breed never releases a song that sounds too much like the previous one. Also, with guest appearances, the unique touch on each song is there all the time. I’m super excited about the response from the fans! I went for an ’80s thrash composition on this one! Having Michael on board is an absolute honor, as he was a part of that era and genre of music.”

Gilbert adds:

“It was an honor to be asked to do a guest solo appearance with Patrik and Tonic Breed. Some killer heavy music and a pleasure to be a part of. Cheers!”

The track was performed, written, and produced by Patrik K. Svendsen , with mixing by Adrian Bjerketvedt and mastering by Steve Kitch .

"The Die Is Cast" is now streaming on all platforms .

Recommended for fans of Flotsam and Jetsam , Slayer , and Metallica .
