Bassist and vocalist Reno Ramos stated about the new song:
“The lyrics paint a vivid and haunting portrait of a malevolent ruler, referred to as "The Darkest Emperor." Within this narrative, the emperor's intentions are unveiled, marking a pivotal moment in the story. Shrouded in mystery and haunted by secrets, his reign is characterized by cruelty and oppression, where kindness has been extinguished and dissent is met with swift and brutal punishment.
Despite his outward power, there's a sense of internal turmoil and melancholy surrounding the emperor, hinted at by the imagery of "raven eyes" and "abrupt melancholy." This suggests a complex and tormented soul lurking beneath the facade of authority.
The emperor's ambition knows no bounds, as even the concept of eternal rest falls under his dominion. This desire for absolute control is fueled by a burning thirst for power, driving him to corrupt and degrade everything in his path. The lyrics evoke a sense of dread and despair, portraying a society gripped by fear and suffering under the oppressive rule of "The Darkest Emperor." Those who dare to oppose him face grim consequences, with punishment awaiting them as the emperor revels in their agony.
Overall, the lyrics offer a chilling exploration of tyranny and its devastating impact, weaving a tale of darkness and despair that leaves a lasting impression on the listener.”
