Drugs of Faith premiere of a lyric video for “Microchip.,” The song can be found on the band’s long-awaited third LP, Asymmetrical, nearing release this month through Selfmadegod Records and Malokul.
DRUGS OF FAITH features Richard Johnson on guitar and vocals, Ivan Khilko on bass, and Ethan Griffiths on drums, creating a rock/punk sound enhanced by grindcore. After nearly six years since their Decay EP and fourteen years since their second LP, Corroded, they are set to release a new album titled Asymmetrical in 2025.
The album contains ten tracks lasting twenty-one minutes, with some songs written before and during the pandemic. Its title reflects diverse themes and directions, unlike a single narrative. Asymmetrical includes a noise track, an instrumental, and a cover of DrDoom’s song "Essential. " It was recorded by Kevin Bernsten, who described it as "a deranged rock album. " Richard Johnson explains that the song "Microchip" has varied tempos and a sarcastic message warning about online misinformation.
