Dark Solstice, a new dark metal band from Munich, will release their debut EP "Where Black Stars Beckon" on May 23. Ahead of the full release, the band will drop the lead single Where Black Stars Beckon on March 28. A preview of the single is already available on their Facebook reel here.
Where Black Stars Beckon captures the essence of Dark Solstice's sound, a fusion of crushing riffs, haunting melodies, and dark atmospheric tones. Drawing from influences like Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, and Dark Funeral, the band blends old-school extreme metal elements with a fresh perspective. The production, handled by guitarist and songwriter Michael Woess at Omega Music Production, delivers a polished but aggressive sound that reflects the band’s artistic identity.
Michael Woess shared his thoughts on the single:
"This song is a true representation of what Dark Solstice stands for. The energy, the atmosphere, and the sheer emotional depth make it a special track for us. We can’t wait to share it with the world and begin this new chapter."
Dark Solstice may be a new name in the scene, but their sound and vision already suggest a band with the potential to leave a lasting mark. The EP promises a cohesive collection of tracks that explore themes of cosmic darkness, despair, and emotional turmoil.
