BLACKENED DEATH/GRIND BAND ‘CHESTCRUSH’ RELEASE SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘ΨΥΧΟΒΓΑΛΤΗΣ’

Blackened death/grind band CHESTCRUSH release sophomore album ‘ΨΥΧΟΒΓΑΛΤΗΣ.’ The title of the eagerly awaited album translates into “Soul Extractor,” a fitting name for the album’s themes. The album dives into nihilism and social critique, channeling the thought-provoking, introspective lyrics through chaotic riffs and dark, atmospheric layers.
The Scottish extreme metal band formed in 2020 by Greek-born Evangelos Vasilakos and quickly gained attention from the underground with their debut demo. After releasing their debut full-length, ‘Vthelygmia,’ and the follow up EP ‘Apechtheia,’ the band further expanded their sound. The band’s song, ‘The Despiser,’ was recently chosen for the soundtrack of DEATHGASM II: Goremageddon, set to premiere in 2025.
‘ΨΥΧΟΒΓΑΛΤΗΣ’ explores the crushing depths of life’s harsh realities through unrelenting, brutal death metal with a searing blackened edge. The extreme layers pull back to reveal unfathomable depths of darkness and the profane existence of reality.
