Black Sabbath say goodbye – Final concert with Metallica, Gojira and many more!

Jason Hesley

It’s the end of an era: Black Sabbath, the undisputed pioneers of heavy metal, have announced their final concert. On July 5, 2025, the band will take the stage one last time—at the place where it all began: Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham. With the fitting title “Back To The Beginning,” this event marks the ultimate conclusion of a career that has shaped the genre for decades.

Unlike their last farewell concert in 2017, where Bill Ward was absent, this time Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward will reunite on stage—for the first time in 20 years.

Ozzy Osbourne commented on this historic event with heartfelt words:

“It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning….time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”

In addition to Black Sabbath, an exciting lineup of bands will include Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, and Mastodon, marking a historic night in heavy metal.

An exclusive supergroup features influential musicians like Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, and many more. Tom Morello will be the musical director, declaring it the greatest heavy metal show ever.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM GMT on LiveNation.co. uk. Proceeds will support charities like Cure Parkinson’s and the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
